Information made public on Sunday, November 13, 2022 by the Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa mentioned that the Government of Cape Verde will present to Parliament proposals for amendments related to measures to prevent and combat the crime of money laundering, the prevention of terrorism and its financing, and proliferation Aeration of weapons.

Cape Verde has received continued support from GIABA, as well as from its development partners regarding technical compliance with the best recommendations from the international perspective, according to the Minister. Cape Verde is in fact a member of the Intergovernmental Action Group against Money Laundering and Terrorism.

The minister specified that “For this reason, these two initiatives will have to be approved at the seat of parliament and we will strengthen and respect the 40 recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) with respect to the country's technical non-compliance on various issues.”
