Abidjan, Tuesday, November 24, 2020: Dr. Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE, Chief Executive Officer of the BRVM was unanimously reappointed Chairman of the Executive Committee of ASEA (the African Securities Exchanges Association), the Association of African Stock Exchanges at the end of its General Assembly held virtually on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. His Vice-President will be Mr. Thapelo TSHEOLE, CEO of the Botswana Stock Exchange.

The Executive Committee of the Association consists of the Johannesburg Stock Exchanges (JSE), Egypt (EGX), Ghana (GSE), Kenya (NSE), Rwanda (CSR), Botswana (BSE), Tanzania (DSE) and Central Africa (BVMAC). African stock exchanges have a capitalization of $1535 billion representing 65% of the continent's GDP as of December 31, 2019.


 
Speaking after his election, he expressed his gratitude to his peers for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to work with their support for the influence and development of African financial markets. He also indicated his willingness to open major projects during his mandate.

Indeed, during this mandate Dr. Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE, will be responsible for steering the major projects underway including the implementation of the African Exchanges Linkage Project (AELP), the post-COVID-19 recovery strategy,  the conduct of high-level discussions of African stock exchanges with the African Union Commission and organizations African regional, advocacy for depth and liquidity in African markets through privatizations and the exit of Private Equity funds and finally the strengthening of the capacities of players in the African stock market ecosystem.

After his doctoral studies in finance culminating in a PhD obtained in 1995 at Laval University in Canada, Dr. Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE has a long career of more than 20 years on the capital markets successively as Managing Director of the Société de Gestion et d'Intermédiation du Togo (SGI-Togo), Chairman of an Asset Management Company, Secretary General of the WAEMU Regional Financial Market Regulatory Authority (CREPMF) and Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) and the Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR) since 2012.
