The Stocks Expert Working Group met to compare their figures and estimates of world cocoa bean stocks at the end of the last campaign and possibly revise their figures. What the International Cocoa Council (ICCO) could do in its next quarterly report taking into account this new situation.

The organization notes in its press release that as of September 30, 2021, i.e. the end of the 2020/21 campaign, estimated world cocoa stocks reached 1.764 million tonnes (Mt) against 1.315 Mt the previous campaign, up by 34.1%. In summary, the risk of error in the figures has diminished, the ICCO pointing out that the difference in figures between the estimated stocks and the stocks calculated on the basis of the statistics had been reduced to 160,000 t against 397,000 t in 2019/20. A reduction largely due to the inclusion in this latest campaign of figures from Southeast Asia.
