The marketing campaign for seed cotton in Benin was launched at the end of last week in Bembèrèkè in the Borgou department.

An increase in the purchase price of seed cotton was recorded during the marketing year. Thus, the kilo of conventional first-choice products went from 265 to 300 FCFA per kg. Owing, in particular, to the rainfall disturbances recorded in July, the authorities estimate that production would indeed be falling, estimating it at 705,000 tons compared to 766,000 tons in the previous season, according to Commodafrica.com.
