A support and advisory mission for soybean farmers in Bafing was carried out from 29 November to 1 December 2022 by the Ministry of State, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The objective is to revitalize the soy sector for a good 2022 campaign.

The Ivorian government is supporting soybean farmers in the Bafing region in the North-West of the country for the 2022 campaign. The mission aims to monitor the mechanized harvesting of soybeans on the plots and to support producers in taking ownership of the entire production chain. Thus, the initiative integrates the government's vision of producing around 3,000 tons of soybeans to meet growing local demand.

The challenge of this project is to improve the quality of life of populations, to set up a better-structured and more competitive soy sector in order to reduce rural exodus, and to provide a protein supplement aimed at reducing malnutrition. 1,531 hectares have been developed, including 403 hectares in Touba and 600 hectares in the department of Koro for this 2022 campaign. Thus, around 300 producers are spread over these plots.
