On Saturday, February 24 in Abuja, ECOWAS announced the lifting of economic sanctions against Niger. Land and airspace borders should now be fully open, but that is not yet the case.

Benin has removed its barriers to allow goods to pass, Niger has not. Since the instruction of ECOWAS, the bridge that allows freight trucks to enter or leave Niger has been closed and blocked by the Nigerien defense and security forces
