The first Smart Grid platform in Africa consists of two 40KWC solar photovoltaic power plants, a 1kWp wind turbine, a weather station and a SCADA monitoring system. And other high-performance technological equipment, which will, among other objectives, make it possible to master the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources into electrical networks through the application of innovative modern techniques in the supervision of Smart Grids

It will also allow the development of the technical and pedagogical capacities of the CSTE as a Pan-African center of excellence as well as the development of skills in modern telecommunications as well as production forecasting tools renewable at the service of Smart Grids.

This platform project is part of the African Network of Centers of Excellence in Electricity (RACEE), a continental initiative launched in 2016 under the impetus of ASEA to improve the performance of African electricity companies and the level of skills of African managers and technicians.
