The ECOWAS Commission has announced that the 2nd Forum of National Trade Facilitation Committees will be held from 16 to 18 March 2021 in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire).

The ECOWAS Commission informs in a recent communiqué that the Trade Facilitation Forum aims to strengthen the National Trade Facilitation Committees as a central platform for institutional coordination. Thus, over three days, the meeting will allow the implementation of trade facilitation initiatives resulting from regional and international obligations, including the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) of the WTO and the Free Trade Area. African Continental Exchange (ZLECA).

The forum, the document continues, will specifically update participants on the implementation of the TFA in the ECOWAS space, identify assistance for the implementation of the provisions of category C of the TFA. It will exchange and identify capacity building for the implementation of the provisions related to the obligation of transparency.
