The World Congress of the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES) is being held from 25 to 29 April in Tallinn, Estonia, on the theme: Challenges and innovative actions of public employment services in an ever-changing labour market. On the occasion, the new members of the Board of Directors were elected during the General Assembly.

The presidency of WAPES is occupied by Morocco, for the period 2022-2025, thus continuing the work started in 2018. The vice-presidencies are Mali, the United States, Korea, Tunisia and France. Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uruguay, Japan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland will occupy the Executive Seats. Benin and Mauritania have been appointed as internal auditors and Switzerland as treasury. This new office has set itself the challenge of reviving the association after the COVID 19 crisis pandemic that did not allow the implementation of the long-term strategy adopted in 2018 in Marrakech, Morocco.
