ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms (ARISE IIP) announced the signing of a development agreement with the Government of Malawi for the construction of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and a dry port in northern Lilongwe, zone 55, in Malawi.

The agreement signed between ARISE IIP and the Government of Malawi is in line with ARISE IIP's ambition to unleash Africa's industrial potential. It aims to help the Government of Malawi advance the country's long-term vision of becoming a middle-income industrialized country to raise, prosperous, and self-sufficient by 2063. Indeed, the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will aim to attract and boost multi-sectoral investments, both industrial and commercial, in the country and will offer logistics services to businesses in Malawi. It will contribute to promoting the local transformation of raw materials into finished products with high added value, with an emphasis on agricultural products and inputs.
