The signing was made in partnership with the Resident Representative of the World Bank (WB) in Mauritania, Cristina Isabel Panasco Santos at the Ministry's headquarters in Nouakchott.
The agreement signed between the World Bank and Mauritania is part of the fruitful agreement between the country and this important global financial institution. According to the Minister of Economic Affairs and the Promotion of Productive Sectors, this is a new financing agreement under which the International Development Association (IDA), a subsidiary of the World Bank, grants support worth 50 million US dollars, or about 19 billion former Ouguiyas, to support the agricultural sector in Mauritania.
According to this funding, the project subject of this funding aims to strengthen the development of land resources and promote inclusive and sustainable commercial agriculture in areas targeted for their high water and land potential. He recalled that this project is in line with national priorities in the field, in particular with the commitments of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to improve the living conditions of our rural populations through the enhancement of the potential of productive sectors and the emergence of sustainable agriculture.
