Moroccan companies have built for twenty years, very promising economic relations with the different countries of Africa. In an interview with "Le Matin", Abdou Diop, President of the Africa Commission of the CGEM, explains the levers of bilateral cooperation. Cooperation between Morocco and Africa began with exports/imports in a trade approach and with the closest countries geographically and culturally. The second stage focused on trade and investment. After the sectors: Aviation, telecommunications and digital, financial services, the real estate sector and the construction sector followed the follow-up of the agricultural and agri-food sectors. Morocco has thus become the second largest investor in West and Central Africa.
" This very large continent of more than 54 countries has its own complexities that in some cases could be considered as constraints to be addressed to invest and in particular for Moroccan companies. We are fortunate to have built a foundation that can be a very favorable lever for development  in Africa ," said Abdou Diop.
In the air connectivity sector, Royal Air Maroc serves most of the north, west and central capitals of the continent. In terms of land connectivity, we can note the Tangier-Dakar road allowing from Mauritania to join Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger to Côte d'Ivoire. As for maritime connectivity, there are the ports of Tangier-Med, Casablanca or the future port of Dakhla-Atlantique.
As a reminder, Tangier-Med has significantly reduced transit times and logistics costs with the different countries of the continent. In economic and financial connectivity, Morocco has three Moroccan banks present in 24 African countries. These are the AMMC, Casablanca Finance City and the Casablanca Stock Exchange, partners of the main players in the financial markets and African markets. In addition, Moroccan companies are present in more than 45 African countries.
