Côte d'Ivoire and Japan have signed two loan agreements, through the International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The first agreement concerns the strengthening of the Taabo-Kossou-Bouaké electricity link, in the amount of 22.028 billion Yen (about 139 billion FCFA) and the second is emergency support for the Ivorian government's response to the COVID-19 health crisis for 15 billion Yen, or approximately 75 billion CFA francs. The objective of the Taabo Kossou-Bouaké Electrical Link Reinforcement Project is to improve the security and quality of electricity supply in the central and northern areas of Côte d'Ivoire, as well as in neighbouring countries, by strengthening the network. electrical, including transmission lines.
