A statement issued on Thursday, November 9, by the Egyptian Government Cabinet indicated that Egypt and car manufacturers have signed framework agreements with three local companies to cooperate in assembling national cars.

The Egyptian government has signed agreements collectively with the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (FATF), the Fund for the Environmentally Friendly Automotive Industry (EFAIF) of the Ministry of Finance and the unit of automotive manufacturing of the Ministry of Commerce. Ezz Elsewedy Car Factories, with the International Trade Agencies and Marketing Company (Itamco) and Ghabour Egypt among the signatories.
