Le lundi dernier, lors d' un sommet des dirigeants du continent européens, la première ministre italienne Giorgia Meloni unveiled Italy's major development plan for Africa.

The plan aims to stem the number of migrants, diversify energy sources, and forge a new, non-predatory relationship between Europe and Africa. The government's plan, named Eni, aims to expand cooperation with Africa beyond energy and is a new philosophy and method. According to Meloni, the summit was a successful first step. Senior European and United Nations officials said the Italian plan, with an initial allocation of 5.5 billion euros ($5.95 billion), would complement initiatives already under way focused on climate adaptation and the development of clean energy in Africa
