Nigeria and Cape Verde launched, the week last in Abuja, the African Digital Corridor (CAD). This initiative is aimed at strengthening their ties in the fields of digital technology, trade and of innovation.

The African Digital Corridor marks a milestone strategic, by defining cooperation priorities around artificial intelligence, youth empowerment and development bilateral. Faced with digital challenges, bilateral cooperation is essential as a strategic lever to pool skills, stimulate innovation and building inclusive ecosystems

According to Christiana Onoja (photo, right), co-founder and CEO of SheCode.ai, the organization behind the project, “this initiative shows that innovation diplomacy can produce tangible results. When governments, innovators and the private sector collaborates, concrete programs and partnerships are concretize”.

Bilateral cooperation will be strengthened by a Nigeria—Cape Verde Business and Innovation mission, expected in Praia in the fourth quarter 2025. It aims to connect 20 to 25 Nigerian businesses with Cape Verdean partners in key sectors, including digital technology, renewable energies and tourism.
