At the end of the first quarter of 2021, the net sales excluding taxes of the company Spinning, weaving, bags, Ivory Coast (Filtisac) S.A. increased by 4% compared to the first quarter of 2020. The announcement was made by the leaders of this Abidjan-based company.

Filtisac's turnover stood at 9.921 billion FCFA against 9.531 billion FCFA at 31 March 2020, a decrease of 390 million FCFA in absolute value. On the other hand, the operating result shows a decrease of 32%, from 475 million FCFA at March 31, 2020 to 322 million FCFA a year later. Current income before taxes follows the same downward trend, amounting to 204 million FCFA against 346 million FCFA in the first quarter of 2020 (-41%). According to company officials, this situation stems from the rise in the price of raw materials, sea freight, and supply difficulties that have an impact on the level and costs of production. For the rest of the 2021 financial year, Filtisac officials argue that measures have been taken to ensure a regular supply of raw materials in the current difficult context.
