Last Friday, a strike by dockworkers paralyzed the port of Abidjan, an essential link in the Ivorian economy. These workers are demanding the application of a 2019 decree improving their working conditions, before suspending the movement in the evening.

The dockers, who paralyzed the two ports of the country, Abidjan and San Pedro (south-west), demanded the application of a decree of January 2019 to improve their working conditions. After a meeting with the general management of the port, the Ministry of Transport and the Labor Inspectorate, they believe that they have obtained "real progress on all" of their demands, according to the press release from Fenad- THIS.

"The National Federation of Dockers of Côte d'Ivoire (Fenad-CI) suspends the strike and therefore asks all dockers (...) to return to work, from this moment", indicated in a press release this trade union confederation. who had launched the movement on the night of Thursday to Friday.
