For the 2021 financial year, the Ivorian government has adopted a draft budget which balances resources and expenses at 8621.1 billion FCFA, an increase of 6.9% compared to the initial forecasts included in the 2020 budget.

According to the government spokesman, Sidi Tiémoko Touré, who spoke at the end of the Council of Ministers of September 30 held in Yamoussoukro, this new budget aims to "contribute to the revival of economic activities deeply impacted by the effects of this pandemic. and to pursue the government's development objectives aimed at improving the living conditions of the people”.

Now included in the program budget, like the year 2020, the 2021 budget is structured in 35 allocations and 149 budget programs. "It balances out in resources and expenses at 8,621.1 billion CFA francs and records an increase of 6.9% compared to the initial 2020 budget", announced Sidi Touré.

Drawn up in a context marked by the coronavirus pandemic, this 2021 budget, adopted by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday September 30, is in line with the precedents with the effective implementation of the second generation of reforms initiated by the Economic Union and monetary union (UEMOA) in the management of public finances in addition to the response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of the country's structuring projects.
