During the simultaneous raids carried out on 16 and 17 January 2026 by agents of the Cybersecurity Authority, Department of Investigations Criminals (CID) and the National Special Unit for Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) from Police national took place the dismantling of the network of cybercrime.

Security services at Ghana have dismantled a network cybercrime presumed to operate in the region of Grand Accra . The coordinated raids targeted areas in East Legon Hills, Afienya, Kwabenya, Kwabenya, Weija, and Tuba, where intelligence revealed that young men were exploited and coerced by network managers of cybercrime to engage in various fraudulent activities online.

9 Nigerian nationals identified as suspects were arrested, while 42 other Nigerian nationals, presumed victims of exploitation, were rescued. The latter were found in apartments equipped with laptops, presumably used for activities related to cybercrime.

The searches carried out on the various sites made it possible to seize 52 mobile phones of various types, 62 laptops and two shotguns.

A total of 53 Nigerian nationals were arrested at the five sites. It is revealed that 5 arrests have been made in East Legon Hills, 11 in Afienya, 10 in Kwabenya, 10 in Weija and 17 in Tuba.
