The Executive Chairman of LIRS, Dr. Ayodele Subair, revealed in a statement signed on Monday, March 30, by the Head of Corporate Communications, Monsurat Amasa-Oyelude, that the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for filing annual individual income tax returns from March 31 to April 14, 2026.

Dr. Ayodele Subair stated that the extension was aimed at giving individuals more time to complete and submit accurate returns. According to the statement, “The Executive Chairman of LIRS, Dr. Ayodele Subair, explained that the statutory deadline for filing annual individual income tax returns is March 31 of every year. He clarified that this extension aims to give individuals more time to complete and submit accurate tax returns.”  

Dr. Subair stated that individuals must prioritize the timely filing of their annual tax returns, emphasizing that compliance with these obligations should become a common personal practice.
