The latest evaluation of national policies and institutions (CPIA) revealed that the quality of policies and the ability of Beninese institutions to promote sustainable growth and reduce poverty.

The CPIA was organized for the benefit of 39 countries eligible for International Development Association (IDA) assistance in Sub-Saharan Africa by the World Bank. This evaluation made it possible to assess the countries on a scale of 1 to 6. Indeed, Benin recorded an increase in its CPIA score from 3.6 in 2021 to 3.7 in 2022 and was ranked first in West Africa following Rwanda (4.1), Cape Verde (3.8) and Kenya (3.8).

Over the past 5 years, progress has been noted on several fronts: Economic Management (4.2), Structural Policies, which went from 3.5 to 3.7, Policies to combat social exclusion and promote equity, which rose to 3.6 in 2022 compared to 3.5 in 2021, and Public Sector Management and Institutions , which went from 3.4 to 3.5.
