Gabon carried out, in December 2025, repayment of 39 billion CFA francs in respect of its external debt. Ce amount is divided between China (China Construction Bank) and the Bank African Development Agency (BAD).

Gabon recently made two payments consistent with important multilateral partners. A transaction that is part of the debt service framework and comes at a time when the country is facing a global public debt exceeding 8,600 billion FCFA. The Gabonese authorities have thus validated the payment of 24 billion FCFA in favor of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and 15 billion FCFA for the benefit of China Construction Bank Corporation (CCBC).

Amounts that highlight, once again, the Gabon's willingness to meet its deadlines vis-à-vis its partners financial. According to the authorities, this payment proves that Gabon remains committed to a trajectory of financial credibility and restructuring economic and the restoration of trust with all of its international partners.

The government claims that these payments are made within the framework of a concerted schedule, compatible with the national fiscal trajectory.
