600 million dollars. This is the amount recently made available to the Federal Government by the Central Bank (CBN) of Nigeria to implement the National Gas Use Development Programme.

Newden has been pursuing a policy for a few years to boost its gas sector and thus reduce its greenhouse gas emissions on the environment by at least 50%. The establishment of a $600 million fund is expected to be used, among other things, to finance the creation of gas processing plants, small petrochemical plants, gas cylinder manufacturing plants, modular compressed natural gas (CNG) regasification systems and plants for the manufacture of automatic conversion kits or components. Similarly, CNG primary and secondary compressor stations as well as microdistribution points and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sales service centres can be developed. It should be remembered that this fund, which was launched in August 2020, was still inaccessible, but this is no longer the case since the federal government's announcement. In addition, around 50 applications from small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to develop their capacities to support the national gas sector have been submitted since last year.
