At the end of the visit to Senegal, the Vice President in charge of Africa and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Sergio Pimenta assured Senegal of the constant support of this institution specialized in the development of private sector development at the World Bank

The aim of the Vice President for Africa and the International Finance Corporation (IFC)'s visit to Senegal was to see how to continue to strongly support Senegal and find new approaches for the country. According to the latter, “one of the interesting areas [of cooperation] that we want to pursue is to work with businesses created by young people and women who have less access to finance than some companies.” The Vice President of the SFI welcomed Senegal's agricultural potential, after visiting the Senegal River Valley, one of the most suitable parts of the country for agriculture. Pimenta indicated in an interview that the SFI is available to support Senegalese businesses and will continue to do so. “Access to finance is very important for the agricultural sector. We want to set up credit lines that can help it develop,” he promised.
