The Minister for Digital Transition, Posts and Electronic Communications, Aminata Zerbo/Sabané, received the UNDP Resident Representative in Burkina Faso, Elsie, on Thursday, September 8 Laurence Chounoune. The purpose of this meeting is to strengthen digitization in Burkina Faso.

According to Elsie Laurence Chounoune, “UNDP is very involved in everything related to digitization, we think that this should be at the heart of what we do. It is an outreach audience to take stock of the actions undertaken, to see the priorities and to see how UNDP can support Burkina Faso in the digitization of everything related to the digital economy. It is at the heart of our priorities because without the digital economy we cannot speak of development.”

Indeed, UNDP has assisted the government in several projects, the most recent of which is the Women, Young Entrepreneurs and Citizenship project (ProfejeC), which gave birth to FasoHub, a website facilitating access to digital resources relevant to the development of entrepreneurial skills.
