On the occasion of an official ceremony at which Swiss-African reflections was invited, Senegal and Portugal underlined their desire to promote their economic relationships, while diversifying them.

Trade exchanges between Senegal and Portugal were valued at 41.1 million Euros (over 26 billion francs) CFA), in 2021. For Portugal, business opportunities with Senegal are “huge” for its businesses. These opportunities range from infrastructures, to the agri-food sector, through the Technologists of information and communication (ICT), oil and gas, materials construction, food products, etc...

According to the Agency for Portugal's foreign investment and trade (aicep ), “(...) Recognizing the Senegal as an economic partner is an excellent bet for diversification of the Portuguese offer, which represents a modern Portugal and competitive”. According to the new Ambassador of Portugal in Senegal, Ms. Cristina Pucarinho, the Arial"> two countries maintain commercial ties” solid, built through dialogue. They are getting stronger and developing, with a long-term vision.”

Portugal is committed to supporting Senegal in its efforts to promote trade, regional integration, as well as in its fight against crime cross-border.
