The Ecobank Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bank of China (Mauritius) Limited. It was Monday, December 22, 2025 in Lomé. The agreement aims to deepen their cooperation in the areas of trade, payments and financial services, in order to support economic exchanges between China and Africa, according to a statement from the Ecobank Group published Monday.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, Ecobank has specified that he would study, in collaboration with Bank of China, “opportunities for strengthened cooperation, in line with the objectives of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, in order to support the financing of cross-border trade and regulations.”

According to a press release, “the two partners will use their respective expertise to support their customers through solutions in renminbi (RMB), offering as well as to African companies, Chinese companies and actors of cross-border trade of settlement and financing options more effective”.
