The Ivorian Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko, discussed on October 6, 2020 in Abidjan, the economic outlook of Côte d'Ivoire for the decade 2020-2030, during a video-conference with the World Bank.

The discussions were led for the World Bank by the Director General of Operations, Alex Van Trotsenburg. The Head of Government assured of Côte d'Ivoire's commitment to continue and maintain its growth momentum for the next ten years, in particular through the adoption of reforms, the improvement of the business climate, rigorous macroeconomic management, control of inflation and the budget deficit, etc.

In a statement to the press, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Adama Coulibaly, who took part in the meeting, said that the World Bank noted with satisfaction the resilience of Côte d'Ivoire in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite a sluggish international economic context, the growth rate is estimated at 1.8% in 2020; where many countries will experience a recession.

World Bank officials acknowledged the government's considerable efforts to reduce poverty, from 55.1 percent in 2011 to 39.5 percent in 2018. They praised the quality of their cooperation with Côte d'Ivoire and pledged to strengthen it, through support for the implementation of the ten-year plan 2020-2030.

The Minister of Planning and Development, Nialé Kaba, and the Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Renewable Energies, Abdourahmane Cissé, also took part in the exchanges.

The World Bank Group's portfolio in Côte d'Ivoire consists of some thirty projects, worth more than $3.5 billion.
