A digital trades school was inaugurated by the Beninese authorities in Cotonou (South-East), the country's economic capital, in order to meet the needs of training needs in this sector.

The Beninese government has indicated that the new digital vocational school inaugurated in Benin is a public institution that cost 530 million CFA francs (over 800,000 euros). It is in fact the fruit of a partnership between Benin and France. According to the Beninese Minister of Secondary and Technical Education and Vocational Training, Kouaro Yves Chabi, this school was created with the intention of offering “practical, professional, short-term training, while adapting to changes. technological” in order to “meet the new needs of the labor market”.

For his part, the chairman of the board of directors of the said school, Mathias Affomaï, “The fiber network, the data center and the e-services that the government is developing will not have only makes sense if they can be developed through qualified internal skills.” As a result, the country aspires to become a hub for digital services in West Africa.
