Afin de mettre en œuvre la first phase of the National Support Programme for Integrated Livestock Development, the African Development Bank ( BAD ) granted a loan of €39.3 million to Senegal on Friday.

Marie-Laure Akin-Olugbade, directrice générale pour l' Afrique de l' Ouest et vice-présidente par intérim du Groupe de la BAD announces that the Programme national d' appui au développement intégré de l' élevage “ program will identify and implement the necessary synergies with the projects Special agro-industrial processing zones, especially the Agropole Nord project, in which the livestock sector is a priority. The main objective is to improve livestock production and productivity for a better supply of meat and milk quantity and quality for future industrial units.” The program will also increase the availability of quality plant biomass, in particular by supporting ten certified fodder seed producers.
