On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Youssoupha Diallo, head of the OFNAC investigations department, stressed the need to implement a system to prevent fraud practices and of corruption that are harmful to the emergence of the forest economy.

According to Youssoupha Diallo, forest resources are strategic products that are essential for achieving and consolidating sustainable development in our land. Indeed, for him, “the issues and challenges of forest governance in Senegal raise the need to put in place a system to prevent fraud and corruption practices that are harmful to the emergence of the forest economy and to R&D. Eacute; conservation of fauna and flora resources”.

For example, a workshop was held in Tambacounda on “the development of action plans to combat corruption in the field of forest resources governance” involving the regional water, forest and hunting inspectorates in the Tambacounda and Kédougou regions.

During this workshop, the head of the OFNAC investigations department invited actors to a common vision and concerted actions to better prevent and combat corruption in the forest sector.
