On November 18, 2022, the ^7th General Assembly of the West African Electric Power Exchange System (Eeeoa) took place in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, in French, Waap in English. On occasion, a review was made of the main achievements of this organization, at the end of December 2021.

“Development and integration of renewable energies in the ECOWAS regional electricity market”. This is the theme around which the 17th Eeeoa General Assembly focused. The meeting was chaired by the Secretary General of the Senegalese Ministry in charge of Oil and Energy, Cheikh Niane, who reviewed the main achievements of this organization.

Among other achievements, Cheikh Niane focused on the official launch of work on the 330 kV North Ridge interconnection project of Eeeoa, which has drawn up an ECOWAS master plan for the development of means of producing and transporting electrical energy. The holding in Banjul (The Gambia) of the first forum on the advantages of buying excess energy from the 150 MW regional solar park in The Gambia is also one of the actions carried out during the period mentioned.
