Two days after the signing of a $69 million agreement between the Ghanaian government and the AfDB on renewable energy, new agreements are emerging to support the private sector. These agreements are part of the Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Energy Finance (SUNREF) program.

The Ghanaian private sector has just benefited from a credit agreement to support energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) and the French Development Agency (AFD) signed a credit agreement of 13.7 million dollars and a grant agreement of more than 1 million euros on Friday 27 May. GCB and SUNREF will continue to provide competitive loans and technical assistance for structuring green investments to businesses, organizations, individuals and households under the agreements.
