On Thursday, August 18, 2022, the port authorities received 6 next-generation cranes and 7 Wheeled Cranes (RTG). This is in the context of equipping the second Container Terminal (TC2) at the autonomous port of Abidjan, scheduled to be operational before the end of 2022.

The Chief of Staff, CONÉ Djoman, received the 6 new cranes and the 7 RTGs from the Minister of Transport. At the Autonomous Port of Abidjan, the Chief of Staff was accompanied by the Director General of Côte d'Ivoire Terminal, Koen DE BACKKER, the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan, Hien Yacouba SIÉ, and the CEO of Côte d'Ivoire Energie, Noumory SIDIBÉ.

These post-Panamax cranes with a 66 meter outerbridge are 89 meters high and can take containers onto ships at an extension of 22 rows (50 meters). This project was made possible thanks to investments of around 269 billion FCFA previously made by the Autonomous Port of Abidjan, for earthworks and the creation of 37.5 hectares of open land by hydraulic embankment.
