The Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Alexandre Barroso presented the summary of crude oil and natural gas exports on Monday, April 24, 2023. He placed particular emphasis on the evolution of the Brent price during the first three months of the year.

For this quarter, dated Brent (the price of crude oil to be delivered on the international market in the short term) recorded an average price of 81.17 US dollars per barrel, with 87.92 million barrels of crude oil valued at 6.92 billion US dollars having been exported to the main destination, China (over 50%). According to the secretary, the slowdown in the global economy and the expectations of higher interest rates by central banks, as well as the relatively lower demand for fuel were some of the factors that influenced the price of dated Brent. As for gas, exports reached 1.11 million metric tons worth 948 million US dollars
