It was yesterday, Monday, November 13, 2023, that Baïdy Agne, president of the National Council of Senegalese Employers (CNP) proposed the creation of an investment and venture capital fund to finance job-generating startups.

The president of the National Council of Senegalese Employers indicated that “the National Employers' Council and the entire private sector intend to work with all private and public stakeholders to create, for example, investment funds and natural venture capital necessary for the financing of startups that generate productive jobs.” According to the latter, it will be necessary “to act on several levers to solve this multidimensional employment issue through training, labor productivity, public procurement, local and entrepreneurial development policy and especially nowadays technological innovation

Baïdy Agne indicated that “Senegal cannot content itself with observing the evolution of digital technology without looking for the opportunities offered in terms of wealth and job creation or simply in terms of economic growth.”
