On the morning of Wednesday, October 19, 2022, Brazzaville hosted the 8th General Assembly and the 9th FIGE colloquium under the theme: “The higher institutions responsible for overseeing the administrative order in the face of the challenges of good governance.

The head of the Congolese government, Collinet Makosso opened the 8th General Assembly and the 9th FIGE colloquium with the presence of the president of the outgoing FIGE steering committee, Zen El-Hassen, and the FIGE executive secretary, Hassan Issa Sultan. For the Comptroller of State of Congo, president of the FIGE Executive Committee, Germain Kiamba, several issues are on the table during these meetings. There are the files of the FIGE manual of administrative and financial procedures and the amended statutes of the FIGE institute, followed by those of the rules of procedure. The Prime Minister, for his part, stressed that, since its creation in 2006, FIGE has set itself the ambition of becoming a key player in evaluative and prospective thinking in the area of public management. “Accountability ensures the proper use of public resources and the achievement of development goals,” he said.

As a reminder, this forum is being held 16 years after the establishment of the institution and is structured around four panels, including mechanisms for securing public funds and institutions supé control procedures and the fight against corruption and fraud in public management.
