Niger has just received $250 million in support from the World Bank to address the economic and security crisis. This funding will enable 25 municipalities across the country to fight droughts, floods and extreme heat events.

Climate shocks have exacerbated the country's economic problems. Several international partners are mobilizing to support government actions. For example, the World Bank has granted $250 million to Niger to strengthen the management of municipalities. Through a press release, the institution informs that this support comes in support of the "Integrated Urban Development and Multisectoral Resilience Project". This project will further strengthen the resilience of the most vulnerable, and contribute to a sustainable recovery in the most affected areas. It aims to improve the daily lives of nearly 3.4 million people over the next six years.
