On December 12, 2022, in Abidjan, the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund gave the green light to provide $15.64 million in funding to Cameroon. A resource to implement the Public Financial Governance Support Project.

Strengthen the institutional and organizational environment for public financial management through increased mobilization of tax revenues and the promotion of effective public expenditure. This is the general objective of the Fonds africain de développement , the preferential lending window of the Group of Banque africaine de développement , to provide a loan of $14.61 million and a donation of $1.03 million.

This project will support the Cameron Tax Directorate in developing and implementing its modernization plan through the dematerialization and digitization of the tax system. It will also increase the effectiveness of tax revenue mobilization, broaden the non-oil tax base, and improve revenue security by reducing the risks of tax evasion and avoidance.
