The Minister of Financial Services will visit Zambia where the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG), in collaboration with the Bank of Zambia, is organizing, from 28 August to 3 September, the fifth dialogue between the public and private sectors (PPSD).

At the end of August, the Mauritian financial sector will have its eyes set on Zambia. The fifth dialogue between the public and private sectors will be held around the theme “Virtual Assets and the Implementation of AML/CFT/CPF Programmes in the ESAAMLG Region”. There will also be the 22nd ESAAMLG Council of Ministers and the 44th Working Group. “Then we will know whether Mauritius will have the status of compliance or largely compliant with Recommendation 15,” emphasizes Mahen Seeruttun. After the Technical compliance re-ratings in September 2021, the ESAAMLG had found Mauritius to be in compliance or largely in compliance with 39 of the 40 recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
