On Thursday, October 13, 2022, during a national workshop organized by the HAPLUCIA (High Authority for Preventing and Combating Corruption and Related Offences), the Strategy National Plan for Preventing and Combating Corruption and Related Offences was approved in Lomé.

Before the National Strategy for Preventing and Combating Corruption was approved, a diligent study was carried out to determine the perception and cost of corruption in Togo followed by a validated contribution.

A methodology has been adopted and constitutes a participatory and inclusive approach with the involvement of actors. These include state control bodies, civil society organizations, the private sector, trade union confederations, resource persons and strategic planning experts. For the development of the national strategy, planning committees.

On the corruption situation in Togo, an analytical document is enriched and validated by the Strategy Development Steering Committee. Therefore, the provisional version of this document has been proposed and is the subject of 8 regional enrichment workshops.

The objective of this national strategy is to significantly reduce corruption and related infrastructures in Togo. It is divided into three strategies, which are: strengthening the legal and institutional framework for preventing and combating corruption and related infrastructures, developing a culture of prevention against corruption and similar offences in services followed by the strengthening of citizen participation in preventing and combating corruption and similar offenses.
