The French capital wants to host the future European agency. It is officially applying to host the future European authority to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, which is due to be created in 2024. This is facing Vienna, Frankfurt, Madrid and Vilnius and maybe Rome.

The AMLA, the future European anti-money laundering policeman, aims to ensure, not only in the financial system, the uniform application of anti-money laundering regulations in the European Union, for all economic sectors (real estate, notaries, casinos, etc.).

France's application is put forward by the former deputy governor of the Banque de France, president of the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority and, quite recently, president of the Financial Markets Authority (AMF), Robert Ophèle.
