On Saturday, February 14, 2026, the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) has inaugurated its Auxiliary Agency in Tahoua, Niger, under the presidency of His Excellency Mr. Ali Mahaman LAMINE ZEINE, Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger.

The Tahoua Auxiliary Agency is the third in Niger after those of Maradi and Zinder. Its opening is part of the framework of the program to extend the network of Central Bank Agencies. She reflects the constant desire of the BCEAO to support the establishment of banking institutions and microfinance institutions in the regions, in order to strengthen banking, promote financial inclusion and to ensure better cash flow.

It will contribute in effect on the strengthening of the local banking network and greater fluidity commercial transactions between economic operators. It will allow also to improve the quality and availability of notes and coins by circulation and will facilitate the transfer of funds between banks, structures of the region's Public Treasury and their headquarters in Niamey, reducing the risks associated with the conveyance of funds.”
