The international French industrial group, Air Liquide, closed 2020 with remarkable performances. It is thus positioning itself in the race for future growth and benefits from the acceleration observed in health, the energy transition and the penetration of technologies, particularly digital, in all sectors. The industrial gases specialist made a success in 2020 thanks to its strong contribution to the fight against covid-19, the good performance of sales, significant margin growth and growth in net income and the very favorable positioning for future growth.
Chairman and CHIEF Executive Officer of the Air Liquide Group, Benoît Potier praised the exceptional work done by all the teams. "The Group has mobilized more than ever to serve its customers and patients in 2020, which remains an extraordinary year, while resolutely committing to the fight against covid-19 ," he said.
Over the full year, 2020 sales are almost stable on a comparable basis with a return to business growth in the 4th quarter. Gas & Services sales, representing 96% of the Group's revenue, showed good resilience, as did global & technology markets, which remain dynamic. On a comparable basis, the business was supported by strong sales growth in Healthcare and Electronics. Geographically, the situations are extremely contrasted with, in particular, a good performance in Europe, driven by demand for health, and a solid performance of developing economies, particularly China, eastern European countries and Latin America.
