As part of the fight against insecurity in the Gulf of Guinea, West African magistrates and lawyers have been instructed on the criminal regime for offences at sea. This was thanks to a sub-regional seminar organized, from 16 to 20 May 2022, at the autonomous port of Abidjan, by the Interregional Maritime Security Institute (Ismi) of the Regional Academy of Marine Sciences and Techniques.

About twenty magistrates participated in the seminar under the theme: "The repression of crimes committed at sea: armed robbery, maritime piracy, illegal immigration, drug trafficking and inn fishing". Initiated by the Maritime Safety Institute (Ismi) of the Regional Academy of Marine Science and Technology (Arstm), this training aims to strengthen the capacities of participants in criminal law in the fight against armed robbery, maritime piracy, drug trafficking and Inn fishing.
