Congo and Cameroon now connected. The Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, Léon Juste Ibombo, provisionally received the Congo-Cameroon fiber optic interconnection network on May 26 in Ouesso, in the Sangha department.

The interconnection project began in September 2019 and ended in June 2021. The work between the two countries was carried out under the coordination of the Central Africa Backbone (CAB-Congo) project and financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB). It has led, among other things, to the construction of six technical sites in the localities of Ouesso, Biéssi, Sémbé, Souanké and Ntam; a site in Ouesso serving as a meeting point between the networks and the future Congo-Central Africa network; and a site in Ntam.Congo-Central Africa network; the installation of more than 347km of 72-strand fiber optic cable; two HDPE tubes over more than 347km; 350 L3TV rooms; the supply and installation of a remote monitoring system with IP camera, etc.
