The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) obtained a donation of an LS plus 80 tractor (80HP 4WD) and its accessories worth 562,842.98 GHfrom the Ghana Export and Import Bank (EXIMBANK) on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

The vision of the EXIMBANK donation is to support the National Farmers' Day scheduled for Friday, December 2, 2022 in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. This day will be held on the theme “Accelerating agricultural development through added value”.

According to Ghana EXIMBANK (GEXIM) Chief Financial Officer Isaac AmissaHaidoo, the bank team has supported National Farmers Day for 22 years and has been a partner of the annual award since the days of EDIF, EDAIF, and now GEXIM. “We believe in financing the agricultural sector to play its role in the development of the nation, especially by adding value through export transformation,” he said. For him, this support aims to motivate and encourage hard-working farmers and fishers to continue playing their critical role in the agricultural sector of the Ghanaian economy.
