for a period of 18 months, from China Zhonghao Nigeria Limited, a registered civil engineering company
in Nigeria, on the grounds of fraudulent practices.
An investigation by the Bank's Office of Integrity and Anti< Corruption found that
China Zhonghao Nigeria Limited, in a consortium with Oceanic Construction and Engineering Nigeria Ltd.,
had made fraudulent statements about his year of incorporation, the value of his reference contracts
and the experience of its key personnel. These false statements were made during two
calls for tenders for the project to improve drinking water supply and sanitation in
urban, bank-financed in Nigeria.
During this exclusion period, China Zhonghao Nigeria Limited and its subsidiaries will not be eligible for
the awarding of contracts financed by the Bank. In addition, this sanction could be subject to a
cross-exclusion by other multilateral development banks under the

In June 2019, partnered with China Zhonghao Nigeria Limited to respond to this call for tenders, the company
Oceanic Construction and Engineering Nigeria Ltd. had been excluded by the Bank for a period of 48

The Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Project aims to
improve access to safe drinking water in Oyo and Taraba States in Nigeria. It consists, among other things, of
carry out extension and rehabilitation work on the drinking water supply and distribution network
in these two States.
This project is funded by the African Development Fund, the concessional financing window of the
African Development Bank Group.
