The Banking sector in Niger has just expanded with the launch on December 2 of the activities
coris Bank International, Niger Branch. He is the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Finance
in charge of the Budget, Mr. Ahmat Jidoud who presided over the ceremony in the presence of the members of the government,
businessmen as well as the representative of Coris International Bank and guests. Coris Bank is
now present in seven WAEMU member countries namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire,
Senegal, Mali, Togo, and Niger.
In his speech on that occasion, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Finance
in charge of the Budget, Mr. Ahmat Jidoud first recalled that the WAEMU gave discharge at the end of October 2018 to
Coris Bank International to open a Branch in Niger. With the arrival of this bank, the system

Nigerien government to achieve and realize the ambitious projects of the renaissance program. M.
Jidoud noted that in recent years, Niger has regained its nobility on the chessboard under

"It is therefore an honour for me to be able to reconcile the noble ambitions of economic development and
social to the pan Niger and the official start of the activities of this new financial institution that has the support of the State," he said<> declared the Minister Delegate for the Budget.
Ahmat Jidoud also founded the hope that the presence in the banking landscape, of Coris Bank
International will contribute through its diversified and innovative service offering to improving the rate of
banking of our populations and therefore of their living conditions and the reduction of unemployment, through the
job creation for our young people.
For his part, the Chairman of the Management Committee of Coris Bank Succursale du Niger, Mr. Nabi Issa Coulibaly has
stressed that the specificity of the Group is based on a solid base of experience and good knowledge of the
regional specificity, is today the only banking group whose capital is held
entirely by WAEMU nationals, who are very committed to promoting intra-Eumoa trade. He recalled that the Coris Group set its first milestones in Burkina Faso in January 2008 in the
banking sector with a pan-Africanist vision in order to participate in the socio-economic development of
African countries with the vision of being the leading banking group in Africa. Also, he mentioned
that the Coris Group includes the universal banking business units under the Coris Bank
International operating in seven African countries.
Speaking of Coris Bank International Succursale du Niger, he said that the group will be carried by women and men who are professionals and experts in the trades of the
bank. The team, he says, is essentially composed of young Nigerien executives perfectly integrated into the
market and socio-economic environment.
As for the Managing Director of Coris Bank International Succursale du Niger, Mrs. Rakiétou Idé Issaka,
she reassured everyone of her commitment to work towards the achievement of results and performance
assigned in accordance with the Group's strategic objectives. To that end, it stated that Coris Bank
Succursale du Niger, settles in a context of economic growth due to the fact that the authorities of the 7th
Republic have been able in a few years, to activate the economic and financial mechanisms that have allowed
accelerate the development process. Coris Bank is at the same time, the bank of SMEs/ SMIs,
individuals, craftsmen, small traders, institutions and large companies. "We
we intend to fully play our role as a citizen bank and as such participate in the development
socio-economic of the country for the development of our customers and the entire population
in accordance with our social and societal responsibility", concluded Ms. Rakiétou Idé Issaka.
